This is even more beautiful than I imagined. I bought the lighter colored wood which really shows the carving detail. The wood is smooth and the craftsmanship is stunning. Just the appearance when it is closed is impressive with the perfectly shaped wood body and the fine brass hardware. Then you open it and the beauty of the carvings takes your breath away. The artistry and clarity is remarkable. I love this piece so much I plan on buying a few more to place around my home as a sweet reminder of what’s most important.
